Working principle of electric vehicle charger

(1) When the charger is not connected to the power battery assembly, the charger will automatically initialize to the conventional control charging mode after self-test (manual, IC card or charger monitoring system operation mode can be selected). When the charger is manually operated, it should have clear operation guidance information.

(2) After the charger is connected to the power battery assembly, it obtains the charging information of the power battery assembly through communication and automatically initializes to the power battery assembly ECU automatic control mode (referred to as automatic control charging mode).

Charging efficiency and power factor of charger

When the output voltage of AC input isolated AC-DC charger is 50% to 100% of the rated voltage and the output current is the rated current, the power factor should be greater than 0.85 and the efficiency should be greater than or equal to 90%. The efficiency of DC input non-isolated DC-DC charger is to be determined.
